A painting that was reported missing from a Nassau museum has been found.
Margaret Solon told News 12 last week that one of her paintings vanished from the African-American Museum in Hempstead, where it was on loan. She says the piece, called "The Koran," is valued at $11,000.
The museum's executive director told News 12 that the painting could be in a county-run warehouse that had not yet been searched. News 12 asked the county to check, and the painting was found. Solon picked up her painting Thursday.
She says she plans to keep the painting in her possession.
