A Middle Island man who shot at officers during a chase has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Prosecutors say the incident began when police attempted to execute a search warrant at Brandon Scanlon’s Bohemia property in April 2024.
Scanlon proceeded to strike an officer twice with his minivan, causing serious injuries.
He then led police on a nearly half-hour
chase and repeatedly fired at officers.
He was apprehended after crashing his car. Officers conducting the arrest also discovered he was in possession of cocaine and fentanyl.
