A North Massapequa man is accused in a bat and knife attack Sunday night.

According to police, Michael Giovannelli walked up to a man on North King Avenue in North Massapequa and attacked him with a knife.

Police say the victim fought him but Giovannelli went to his car, got a bat and continued the attack.

After the attack, officials say Giovannelli took off, but he turned himself into police yesterday.

Officials say the victim was not hurt and there is still no word on the motive.
