A memorial hike was held Monday in honor of a Boy Scout killed by an alleged drunk driver.
Andrew McMorris, 12, was killed a year ago as he hiked with the Boy Scouts in Manorville.
The Boy Scouts invited family and friends to 'Finish the Hike' that McMorris and the rest of Troop 161 started.
A cross was placed near the spot where McMorris was killed.
"As we were passing by, most people stopped, said a prayer, did what they felt needed to be done. Some people left things at the site, letters, flowers, whatnot," said Eagle Scout Ryan Menier.
The hike will raise money for a lodge in McMorris' name at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp. Organizers say they are looking into making the hike an annual event.
McMorris' father said he was moved by the support of the 500 people who hiked for his son.
Meanwhile, the trial for the man accused of killing McMorris is set to begin next week.
Prosecutors say Thomas Murphy was drunk when he hit five of those Scouts walking in Manorville.
A judge recently said prior apologies made on behalf of Murphy cannot be used as evidence in his upcoming trial.
Murphy's new lawyer argued that the statements shouldn't be allowed because the words came from a previous attorney -- not his client.
