Member of Trinitarios gang sentenced to life for murder of Bronx man on Long Island

According to court documents, gang member William Jones, 45, lured victim Frederick De La Cruz from the Bronx to Long Island.

A high-ranking member of the Trinitarios gang from the Bronx has been sentenced for the murder of a man from the Bronx.

According to court documents, gang member William Jones, 45, lured victim Frederick De La Cruz from the Bronx to Long Island. Jones then shot and killed De La Cruz, who was a confidential informant for law enforcement.

Jones was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy, murder and murder using a firearm. He was sentenced to life in prison. This is his second murder conviction.
