The town of North Hempstead and its supervisor are at the center of a widening corruption probe.Problems surfaced after many people complained about so-called ?McMansions" popping up in Roslyn Heights and New Cassel. The town stopped work on 30 homes when residents questioned if they were up to code. A grand jury subpoenaed the records of Supervisor Jon Kaiman and other town officials, according to Newsday. They're trying to determine whether certain developers who made campaign contributions got special treatment when building the homes. Neither Kaiman or the Nassau County District attorney?s office returned calls for comment.
