A Mastic woman was in court Saturday morning for allegedly driving drunk, crashing into a school bus with three children and two adults on it – then punching a good Samaritan in the face.
Police say Luz Maria Fuentes, 36, took off Friday morning after hitting the bus on Mastic Road and then crashed into another car.
Police say a good Samaritan followed Fuentes to a parking lot on Montauk Highway. They say after a confrontation, Fuentes punched the good Samaritan in the face. She was then arrested.
Fuentes pled not guilty in court to charges of driving while intoxicated, harassment and leaving the scene of an accident.
Prosecutors say Fuentes had a blood alcohol level of .17 – more than twice the legal limit.
The judge suspended Fuentes's license. She's due back in court next week.
