Some neighbors in Mastic say there are too many sex offenders living on their block. On Monday, residents and lawmakers took action after learning four convicted sex offenders are living under the same roof on Eleanor Avenue. Officials from Suffolk County and the town of Brookhaven are calling on state officials to forbid landlords from housing multiple sex offenders under one roof. The owner of the Eleanor Avenue home says he was asked by the state Department of Social Services to rent the house to the convicted predators. Residents, however, say it is unacceptable and they do not want clusters of sex offenders living in residential neighborhoods.
