Two Massapequa International Little League teams are hoping to come out on top at Regionals and make a trip to the Little League World Series.

The reigning Massapequa International Softball 12s world champs say they're feeling great heading into regionals.

"I think there are some nerves, but we're all really excited and I know we're going to do well,” said team member Mia Victor. "Just being confident through everything. Even if we're down, just like picking ourselves up and each other."

The boys senior baseball team also has its eyes on the ball.

"We're all looking forward to it,” said team member Brendan Nolan. “We're just trying to go as far as we can, make it as far as we can, have fun."

Community members came out to celebrate the teams and wish them luck before regionals.

"They're really the ones that make us go this far cause with all their support, it like drives us to the next level,” said Victor.

Team members say the community support is what keeps them going.

"We're going to try and show the country who we are,” said Nolan.

The boys head to Maine on Wednesday morning and the girls leave for Connecticut on Saturday.
