A group of teenagers in Massapequa spent their Saturday night raising money for the victims of the Minneapolis school shooting.

The young adults group at East Gate Church sold bracelets during their worship night to support the families of the victims.

Organizers said they welcomed people of all religious backgrounds to come together for the cause.

"For us, it was so important. It touched our hearts. We had children that were worshipping Christ in church when their lives were taken and so we knew we needed to do something. We needed to get people together not just in prayer, but also to be able to give back financially to the families and to the victims and to help them,"
said Nick Tangorra, co-leader of East Gate Young Adults.

The shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school last month killed two children, and injured 17 people.
