Martin Tankleff returned to Long Island Wednesday night and will soon learn whether or not he?ll be allowed to walk a free man.
Tankleff is due in court Thursday morning for a bail hearing set for 10 a.m.
An appellate court granted the accused killer a new trial due to the testimony of new witnesses stepping forward. Tankleff was convicted in 1990 of murdering his parents at their home in Belle Terre. He has been imprisoned upstate since the conviction.
Authorities say Tankleff will not receive any preferential treatment and will be treated like every other prisoner.
In a rare move, cameras are being allowed in the courtroom. News 12 Long Island will bring you live coverage of the hearing starting at 9:50 a.m. We'll have a team of reporters on the scene to show you what happens inside and outside the courtroom.
