Students and staff at one Nassau County school are "braving the shave" as part of a St. Patrick's Day tradition for charity.
In today's March into Spring segment, News 12 Long Island's Erin Colton was live at a St. Baldrick's Foundation event at Mepham High School.
Mepham High School is also taking part in the Whipping Childhood Cancer challenge! Students and teachers took a pie of whipped cream to the face and donated money to a pediatric cancer charity - in this case to St. Baldrick's.
Erin shaved some heads and also took a pie to the face after being challenged by one of the teachers!
The first St. Baldrick's event was held in Manhattan, when the goal of shaving 17 heads and raising $17,000 turned into 19 bald heads and $104,000 donated to fund the research of the Children's Oncology Group.
