Police are searching for a man they say stole more than $18,000 worth of euros from a car in Williston Park

Detectives say a 38-year-old man went to a bank in New Hyde Park and exchanged about $18,000 for 16,959 euros.

News 12 has been told he then put the Euros in the glove box in his car and drove to the Williston Townhouse Diner.

Police say while he was inside the diner, a suspect came into the parking lot, went directly to the victim's parked car and stole the money.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
