A man was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train in Freeport Sunday morning, officials say.
Officials say the incident happened at the Freeport station around 8 a.m. The MTA says a 40-year-old was killed. His identity has not yet been released.
The Babylon branch was suspended after the incident, but service has since been restored.
It is still unclear how the man came to be struck. In tweets about service disruptions, the LIRR said it was an unauthorized person on the tracks.
