Police say the former treasurer of an East Meadow church has admitted to stealing thousands from the congregation.
As part of a plea deal, Ronald Ousman pleaded guilty yesterday to embezzling over $35,000 from Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.

Church officials discovered the thefts when the IRS told them it never received certain payments.
Ousman, of Bayside, will be sentenced in March and will have to pay back the money, serve probation and community service.
