Man killed in Baldwin crash

Police say one person was killed early Sunday morning in a crash in Baldwin. It happened at 4 a.m. Officials say a Toyota Camry driven by 42-year-old Gregory Balmir was headed south on Grand Avenue

Police say one person was killed early Sunday morning in a crash in Baldwin.
It happened at 4 a.m. Officials say a Toyota Camry driven by 42-year-old Gregory Balmir was headed south on Grand Avenue when his vehicle crossed over two lanes of traffic and struck a utility pole.
The car burst into flames and continued to travel across Kings Parkway until it struck an unoccupied building located at 1577 Grand Ave.
Balmir was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
