A Farmingdale man who served prison time for a drag race that killed five of his friends has been arrested again on a weapons charge.
Police say 20-year-old Corey Gloe fired a shotgun twice in the yard of his home on Tomes Avenue Wednesday.
Officers say shotgun shells were found on the ground, and the gun was found in the trunk of a car. Gloe is facing charges of reckless endangerment, prohibited use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
If convicted of the top charge, he could face 2 ½ to 7 years in prison. That is separate of any resentencing that could occur for violating his probation.
As News 12 reported, Gloe was sentenced to six months behind bars in May for his role in a 2014 drag race that killed five of his friends.
Gloe was also arrested in March on a weapons charge, but those charges were dropped because of a lack of evidence.
Nassau County Courts Spokesman Daniel Bagnuola said the court is aware of Gloe's recent arrest.
"Mr. Gloe is currently under a five-year probationary and revocable sentence imposed by the court on his prior adjudication. The court will consider Mr. Gloe's present circumstance and take appropriate future action as necessary and warranted," he said in a statement.
Bagnuola says if Gloe is found to be in violation of the conditions of his probationary sentence, he will be subject to resentencing.
A judge set bail for Gloe at $100,000. He is due back in court on Monday.
