Man found hiding in Mineola home arrested
Police say they have arrested a man after a Mineola woman said she heard noises coming from her basement. Officials say the woman ran out of her home on 9th Avenue after spotting Jose Almendares.

Police say they have arrested a man after a Mineola woman said she heard noises coming from her basement.
Officials say the woman ran out of her home on 9th Avenue after spotting Jose Almendares.
Police say they found Almendares hiding on a stairway in the home. They say there was a struggle and the officer fractured his hand.
