A family is grieving after a man was found fatally stabbed in a Hempstead parking lot early Sunday, and police have no suspects.
Restaurant owner Rosa Reyes says she made the discovery outside her business after midnight when customers told her someone was being beaten up. Reyes found the victim bleeding, and she says police found a knife in the bathroom of her restaurant.
Jose Alvarado says his 25-year-old nephew, Javier Cuevas, is the victim. Alvarado, who visited the scene, describes Cuevas as a good man and good father.
Neighbors are expressing concern over the murder, saying the area is usually quiet.
