Police are investigating a fire that killed a man in Miller Place last night.
Officials responded to a 911 call for a fire around 11:50 p.m. at a home on Parkside Avenue.
According to officials, members of the Miller Place Fire Department forced entry into the home and removed a 70-year-old man who was inside.
The man was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.
The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Officials say following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the fire is non-criminal in nature.
