A 29-year-old man was killed after a shooting inside a Fordham lounge early Thursday morning, according to police.
The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. inside M Lounge and Restaurant on Jerome Avenue. Surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows crowds of people rushing out of the venue after gunfire erupted.
Police said the victim was shot in the head and pronounced dead.
The victim's wife, Michelle, told News 12 that her husband's name was Jaime. She said she received a missed call from him shortly before the shooting and later learned he had been killed.
"There was a party and he went," she said. "He called me, he was in there and he called me. Then my mom called me to tell me what happened."
Residents in the area said the location frequently hosted parties throughout the week.
"There is always some sort of illegal activity going on there, so it was only a matter of time," said Julian, a nearby resident.
Another neighbor, Alvin, said he was shocked by the violence.
"That's really bad," he said.
Sources close to the investigation told News 12 that detectives are searching for two men in connection with the shooting — one wearing all black and another wearing a green shirt.
