Man charged with murdering mother in New Canaan

A man was arrested and charged with murdering his mother Friday in New Canaan, according to police.
Authorities say they were sent to the area of South Avenue and Gerdes Road after receiving a report about a person yelling in the woods.
Police then received a 911 call from a man stating that he had killed his mother.
Upon arrival, they apprehended 20-year-old Sebastian Van Stockum.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the death was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
