Man charged with DWI; seriously injuring motorcyclist in Shirley

A Suffolk man has been hospitalized and another has been arrested for DWI following a crash in Shirley.
The incident happened on William Floyd Parkway just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
According to police, a motorcycle was hit from behind by a Toyota. The motorcyclist, 52-year-old  Robert Engel, of Northport, was seriously hurt.
Police say the driver of the car took off, but was later caught. He's identified as Thomas Dudley, of Mastic Beach.
The 36-year-old is facing charges including DWI.
