A South Farmingdale man suspected of robbing several nail salons across Long Island pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.
Francisco Leboy, 55, is accused of carrying out three burglaries and attempting a fourth between Sept. 18 and March 12.
The locations targeted were Rainbow Nail Salon in Farmingdale, Dee Dee's Nail Salon in South Farmingdale and Lucky Nail Salon in Hempstead. Leboy allegedly targeted Rainbow Nail Salon twice.
Police have called the incidents cylinder lock burglaries because the suspect allegedly would put some kind of tool inside of the lock and pull the entire cylinder out to gain access to the premises without breaking any glass.
Police charged Leboy with four counts of burglary, but say he may have been involved in as many as 16 burglaries. Police suspect he used the money to feed a drug addiction.
They say Leboy's arrest was made thanks to surveillance video and good detective work.
Leboy is being held in lieu of $185,000 bail. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison.
