A 43-year-old man who allegedly threw a kitten from a moving vehicle Thursday was arrested by Southampton Town police.

Hector Herrera Castillo was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

Police say a caller reported the incident around 8 a.m. while Castillo was driving east on Flanders Road near Spinney Road in Flanders.

Police say the vehicle was located a short time later by patrol officers.

Castillo is set to be arraigned Friday.
