Man accused of public lewdness at Smith Haven Mall
A Smithtown man accused of performing lewd acts at the Smith Haven Mall on multiple occasions wound up in handcuffs over the weekend, according to police.
Police say a woman called for help, telling authorities a man sat next to her on a bench and began masturbating in the mall's Barnes and Noble store Sunday night.
Samuel Bartolotto, 26, faces charges related to the Sunday incident and is accused of similar behavior on at least two other occasions.
Police say Bartolotto had also pulled up next to two different women in the mall's parking lot last week and masturbated in his vehicle.
He is being charged with public lewdness in connection to all three events.
Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call the Suffolk Police Department's Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
