A Levittown man accused of hitting a woman with his car was charged with assault Friday.
Police say Robert Anderson was driving on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown just after 11 a.m. Thursday when he allegedly hit a woman's car at a red light.
Police say when the 22-year-old woman got out of her car to take a picture of Anderson's car, he hit her with his vehicle. The woman was not seriously hurt.
A witness followed Anderson and alerted the authorities.
