This morning. Our Main Street, Long Island Series continues. We're heading out to highlight some of our great local businesses every Monday. Our Jen Selig is in Port Washington. Checking out some delicious food this morning at Athens Mediterranean Marketplace morning, Jen. Hey, good morning. I'm with a himself. He has three locations right on Main Street. Came to the country 54 years ago, opened up his first business 44 years ago. He said you're living the American dream. Good morning. Yes, I am. I've been here 54 years. I opened three businesses. Doing great for Washington's a great place to live. We love it. Just a great town and all this food here. You told me that you have regular customers that just keep coming each week. We have 60 different dishes prepared every day task, but it's great. It's great, fresh, good. Uh, what's the best part about having three businesses on Main Street? I can run back and forth to all of them. I control them. All. Control, control. Ok. Well, I think I know what I'm having for dinner tonight. You got a big selection here. So we're gonna pig out and enjoy it and send it back to you guys. Thank you.

It is Monday, which means we're heading out to one community to show off some of your favorite local businesses. This morning. Our main street Long Island series continues in Port Washington. Our Jen Selig shopping at a gift gift shop called Painting with Flowers Morning, Jen. Hey, good morning. It's a beautiful boutique. You could get a little bit of everything here all from your kitchen items. Perfect gifts, household items, jewelry and it's all right here in Port Washington and this beautiful boutique. And with me, I have three beautiful ladies, three generations here. We got Becca Gail and lie and lie. Your mom started the business back in the eighties and you have taken it over. How has it been treating you? Uh It's been great working with my mom for many years. Uh She started in 1986 I believe, um designing gardens and it's just a great community to be a part of, you know, the name of the boutique is so pretty. I didn't know it was an actually boutique before I actually came inside of it. So how did that name come about? It's a little misleading. My mom started um the business designing English perennial gardens and it was kind of painting your world with flowers, painting your landscape with flowers and everything. Sh she brought in was kind of related to the garden or floral. And as time grew, we've expanded now we have bedding, a baby section, a table top section, really a little bit of everything. And you said that the community has been treating you well here. In fact that you guys moved here to Port Washington to be with the business means so much to. So of course, we're gonna stick around, walk along main street and see what else businesses are here. Send it back to you guys in the studio.

This morning. Our Main Street Long Island series continues where we head out to highlight some of the great local businesses every Monday. We do it and today we're in Port Washington. Our Jen Selig is checking out the beautiful items at white plus one this morning morning, Jen. Hey, good morning. All about home decor and home design all found in this cute little shop right on main street with me. I have Susan, you're the owner of the shop and you are also an interior designer. You've been doing this for years. Yes, I've been in business for 20 years. We started as a home decor shop and it evolved into this interior design slash. Um, I work with all local businesses in the area. I implore, I implore them to work with, um, my kitchen and bath people, my upholsterers and we formed the ones up full relationship here. And you were telling me that the people that come through those doors, you pretty much know, like 98% of them. Yes, I do. I know most of the people that come through the door, although we love new customers, but they have become, they started out as customers. They become my clients. Um I've been to their homes, I've been socially out with them. We go to lunch. We, we just enjoy and we have a great time. I do everything from picking paint colors to uh redesigning and redecorating their bedrooms, their living rooms, their entire homes. I also do kitchens and just your entire place. What's the best part about Port Washington? What do you say? I love Port Washington. It's such a close community and everyone really knows everyone in town and we all try to stay very connected and work with each other. But we also spread outside of Port Washington. I, I also decorate from Manhasset and Roslyn. Uh I have uh clients in Garden City in Manhattan and Florida as well. You're all over the place. I am all over the place. I'm, I kept very busy. Um We're only open here four days a week and that's because on the other days I do my design work and I'm at people's homes. So if you wanna come shop here, come on down. We're in, we're in Port Washington. I'm gonna send it now to break.
