All right, we made it to Friday. It's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all they have to offer. This week we're in Milford. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall is standing by outside Bridgeport Hospital's Milford campus. What's going on, Mark? Well, Becky, glad you asked. We're getting ready for the big Mother's Day 5K run and walk and I'm joined now this morning by the president of the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, Steve uh Jacob, and thank you so much for being with us this morning. Tell us about. Big event. Good morning, Mark. By the way, that was good running for him, you have to join us on Sunday. Well, thanks for having me. We're delighted that we can keep this. The Bridgeport Hospital Foundation team is delighted that we can keep this long standing tradition running. Pun intended in Milford and on Sunday it will be the 28th edition of the Milford campus of Bridgeport Hospital 5K. There's also a 5K, a 3k walk, and a kids' fun run. So one of the great things about the event is that there's something for everybody. So we're encouraging the entire community to come out and join us on Sunday morning 9 o'clock start. And, uh, you know, a little exercise before people see mom later in the day and celebrate her eating and drinking. Yes. So how can people sign up if they haven't already? So, uh, they can go to the website, uh, and, and sign up there runsignup.com. Uh, and, uh, it's $40 for, uh, adults over 18. For the run and the walk and $20 for participants under 18 or 18 and under and then the kids fund run is free. And what about the proceeds? The proceeds will benefit our new same day joint replacement surgery center here at Milford Campus, which we're really excited about to bring. High quality orthopedic services to the community, but do it in a way that's convenient for patients and family members and specifically the proceeds from the race will help support the construction of a family waiting room so that families have a comfortable place to wait for a couple of hours while their loved one is in for a procedure for an orthopedic procedure. Now certainly what makes this special too is you have a nice scenic run here. Tell us about that. Well, as we talked a little while ago, if you if you give runners a scenic seaside course, they will come. They will, and this is exactly that. Much of the course is along the water here. It starts right outside the hospital, ends across the street, and and so gets some great water views and we're looking at the forecast and Sunday is shaping up to be a really nice sunny warm day. All right, Steve, thank you for all the information and we hope you have a great turnout, hoping for maybe what, 6. Well, last year was a record turnout over 600 people, so we're about 500 and counting. And hoping for that big walk up crowd on Sunday. So come on out. That is amazing. Well, we made it to Friday. It's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase all our local towns and cities have to offer. We're in Milford this week. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at the plate for us, Mark. Uh, Becky, the plate has been here on New Haven Avenue in Milford for over a decade now and serving up some delicious stuff too. The man behind it all, the brains behind the operation is with us this morning. Ryan Trevithan, thank you so much for being with us, uh, and, and tell us about your success here. Well, yeah, thanks for for coming and and and supporting us today. Uh, we've been here for 10 years we're doing a breakfast concept with a little twist to it. It's a little higher end. We try to promote, um, high ingredients and we're chefs here so we can do all kinds of cool. Specials and you got Mother's Day coming up. What are you doing for Mother's Day? So we have some things out here that we're gonna feature for tell us all about what you have here. So this is our lobster, uh, quesadilla. You're kidding. It's uh farm fresh scrambled eggs with lobster meat on a, on a toasted tortilla. OK. This is one of our gonna be our best seller. It's our, it's our crab cake omelet stuffed with handpicked crab meat topped with a crab cake and hollandaise. What's next? Next is our. This is our, this is our creme brulee, our classic French toast with the creme brulee topping kidding me. And then for the healthy option we have a banana low fat yogurt. That's too for me, Ryan. You're gonna have to try it. I'm gonna have to try it anyway, of course. And then the cobb salad, cobb salad, that's for, that's for our lunch lovers. So as I stuff my face with this, uh, lobster egg, quesadilla you have here. Um, are these, I, I'm sure you have more specialty items that you serve up. What, what, what else do you do? Yes, so we, we feature, um, specials every weekend. They change. This way we can utilize, you know, local produce. Let's go. That's amazing. So that's, I mean, as you said, local, I mean it makes a, it makes a big difference too. It does, and we, and we prep fresh daily to really ensure the quality of food. Nothing's frozen here at the plate and you have a, a food truck besides, yes, we we use that we, uh, primarily use that for uh private events, graduations, catering events, things like that. Oh wow. You can really taste the lobster. Yeah. Have you eaten yet? I haven't. I left enough for you guys. I don't wanna, I don't wanna get in here. I mean, come on, you've been up since what, 4 a.m.? Yeah, about 4:30. All right, well, he's one of the hardest working guys in the industry. Thank you so much, Ryan, for being with us this morning. Thank you for all these goodies, Becky.
