Eleni Colleony creates made-to-order leather handbags and other accessories in her home studio in Manhasset. She studied industrial fashion and has worked for herself for a few years.
"I only follow my aesthetic guidelines based on what I consider beautiful," said Eleni.
She loves the slow fashion movement and wants to encourage other Long Islanders to embrace it.
"It's not about putting a brand on you, but knowing what you're wearing is made out of the best materials. The craftsmanship is supreme, and it will serve you for life, so I'm really proud of my product."
Your body tattoos can be inked into leather. Eleni crafts tattooed leather bags. Any design can be tattooed on any product. She learned how to do it herself.
"As I was roaming in the bookstore, I stumbled upon this book on Japanese tattoo art. It was so elegant, so beautiful. I was going through the book, and it hit me—why can't I do that on leather?”
She ships her products all over.
