Chris Mollish started his own automotive business building emergency vehicles. He opened CMJ Emergency Lighting in Lindenhurst in 2020.
"I had no schooling on this. I started my first job in this industry when I was 17 years old," said Chris. "My dad was a first responder his whole life, my brother is a first responder, and my mom is a first responder. I was never a first responder, but this is my contribution."
Chris works with Suffolk County police, Floral Park, Freeport, Muttontown, Upper Brookville, and several other local police and fire departments. The company orders its products from three main American manufacturers. Inside the shop, the team installs the sirens, lighting, computers, and prisoner gates.
The team also builds custom command boxes for fire chief vehicles. "We've been growing fast over the past three years. We started with nothing, and now we are over 150 cars a year," said Chris.
