Loved ones remember Tony Meras, owner of Riverhead's Star Confectionery

One of Meras’ claims to fame was his handmade chocolate Easter bunnies that brought people to the shop from far and wide.

Tony Meras, a beloved restaurant owner in Riverhead, died over the weekend. He was 90 years old.
His family started Star Confectionery on Main Street in 1920.
One of Meras’ claims to fame was his handmade chocolate Easter bunnies that brought people to the shop from far and wide.
The popular luncheonette and ice cream shop known as Papa Nick's is currently run by Meras’ son, Anthony.
Services are being Wednesday at Southampton Greek Church at 10 a.m.
