Lotto fever burns as Long Island freezes
Lotto fever was heating up for many Long Islanders Friday despite the mounds of snow and arctic temperatures.
Mega Millions’ jackpot was up to $450 million ahead of Friday night’s drawing, with Powerball up to $570 million with a coming Saturday drawing.
Praful Patel, of Mr. Tobacco in Smithtown, said his machines were busy printing out tickets even during the thick of yesterday's snowstorm.
“They all want to win the jackpot,” said Patel. “They have a lot of dreams, ya know?”
