For
Jon Bellion, a talented Grammy Award-winner from Long Island, 2019 was a
great year. He performed in front of packed houses at The Paramount in
Huntington and at Jones Beach.
Then
the pandemic hit and live music came to a screeching halt.
“It's
scary…You think of every venue in the nation that hasn't played music in
months. We are talking thousands, hundreds of thousands of people out of work,”
Bellion told News 12.
The
29-year-old got creative and decided to perform a live virtual concert on Dec.
10. Bellion says 100% of the profit from the concert will go to his bandmates and
live-show workers.
“Whoever
bought a ticket, just know that it's going to helping literally these men and
their families pay for their holiday season or pay for their rent or their
house,” he said.
The
virtual concert is happening on Long Island at Cove City Sound Studios, owned
by legendary musician Richie Cannata.
In
addition to his catalog, Bellion says he plans on performing songs that he
wrote for other artists that became Top 10 hits.
“It's
a blessing during the holiday season to be able to put together something that
could potentially help people through such a tough time,” said Bellion.
