Long Island’s hospitals gear up for potential coronavirus outbreak

They are receiving constant updates from the Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Hospitals across Long Island are gearing up for a possible coronavirus outbreak.
Northwell Health, Nassau University Medical Center, NYU Winthrop, Mount Sinai South Nassau and Good Samaritan Hospital all say they are ready if the virus were to make its way to Long Island.
So far, there are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Officials at Mount Sinai South Nassau say their plan to tackle coronavirus is the same plan that's been in place for other infectious diseases. People at risk are taken into an isolation room with air filters and treated by staff in full protective gear.
