Long Islanders are standing with the Point Lookout-Long Beach community today, remembering and honoring fourth grader Lazar LaPenna by wearing sports jerseys today.
LaPenna was the little boy who had a seizure during a Little League baseball game.
The Wantagh school district is one of the districts participating in the day.
Little Leagues across Nassau County are asking their players and alumni to wear their Little League jersey or sports jersey to school.
The date was chosen because the number nine was Lazer’s favorite number.
