Residents across Long Island were eager to get a jump start on their holiday shopping this Black Friday.
The Tanger outlet in Riverhead opened at midnight to satisfy those shoppers looking to get the best deals. Shoppers were also out early at the new Tanger Outlets at the Arches in Deer Park. Customers there say some stores were offering 50 percent off big-ticket items. The general manager says on Saturday the outlets? ice skating rink will also be open to the public.
Some camped out in front of the Best Buy in Huntington Station to secure their place in line for the sales.
?I did this for the first time a few years ago. I thought it was crazy, but then we came home with a TV and a bunch of DVDs,? says Huntington resident Anthony Faeara. ?It felt good to save hundreds of dollars.?
