A Long Island man has laced up his best running shoes today as he embarks on a Run to Remember to raise money for four different causes.
Kenny Owens is running 27 miles in 24 hours around Rockville Centre in memory of his brother Kevin, who spent his last 27 days in the hospital. Owens is also commemorating another late brother, Patrick, and three other families fighting illnesses and hardships.
Every few hours, he will be running a four-and-a-half-mile loop. His last run kicks off at 12:30 a.m.
"When you run and train you think about things that you go through what you've lost what you have and what you fight for," says Owens.
Please Venmo all donations to @Tommy-Brull and help Owens reach his goal of running 27 miles and raising $80,000.
All of the money raised will go to local hospitals and foundations.
