On the one-year anniversary of the Death of Pope John Paul II, Long Island and the world remembers his life and legacy. In Rome, thousands of people filled St. Peter?s Square to pray by the Pope?s tomb. On Long Island, the faithful flocked to churches to remember the man who touched so many lives around the world. During Sunday Mass at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, Bishop William Murphy spoke of and prayed for the Pope. He asked churches across the Island to do the same. Pope Benedict will deliver a blessing in Rome to mark the exact time of Pope John Paul?s death and at the same time bells will toll in his native Poland.
