Hundreds of Long Island veterans are being treated to a holiday meal.
The event, put on by NBTY Helping Hands, is all about veterans helping other veterans this holiday season.
The organization donates all of the food, including 850 turkeys, pies, and boxes of side items like macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes.
The food is then organized and distributed to local veterans organizations, who then can give out the food to local families.
Local residents love the event, and say it makes the holiday season a little easier for those who can't afford the meals.
Veterans also participated in a similar event for Thanksgiving. They have been doing it for three years, and hope to continue doing it for years to come.
