Florida residents are evacuating their homes as Hurricane Milton approaches. The storm is expected to pose a significant threat when it makes landfall Wednesday.

Here on Long Island, a local organization is already collecting supplies to help people in Milton's path and those recovering from Hurricane Helene.

Jibaritos with Troops is spearheading a supply collection campaign titled 'To Florida With Love.'

They're accepting nonperishable food items, batteries, clothing, and towels to help those impacted by Helene and Milton.

Residents looking to contribute can drop off their donations at 11 Madison Ave. in Bay Shore.
