Long Island man gives back to others with 'Helping Makes You Happy' charity
A Long Island man with Down syndrome founded a charity focused on helping others.
Keith Caputo spends some days speaking at local classrooms to connect and inspire others with Down syndrome.
He also is the owner and founder of Helping Makes You Happy.
Eight years ago, Caputo lost his friend and mentor Anthony Parlato, who was the co-executive director of the Moriches Community Center. Through their friendships and lessons, he learned from Parlato, Caputo created the charity.
"I was so sad, I was crying, but coach guided me," Caputo said. "Teach me about helping. Makes everyone happy and makes me happy, too."
