A Long Island football team honored a West Babylon teen who beat the odds after a close call with death.
Last September, Job Giuliani was hit by a car outside of West Babylon High School while crossing Great East Neck Road.
His best friend, Perry Corsetti, saw it all unfold. Corsetti says first responders didn't think Giuliani would make it.
Giuliani suffered a skull fracture and broken bones throughout his leg. When he awoke from a coma, doctors said he might never swallow again and that walking would be an incredible challenge.
Giuliani worked hard, and his persistence caught the eye of the Long Island Lions, a football team that plays its home games in Giuliani's hometown of West Babylon.
Tonight, on his 18th birthday, Giuliani served as the Long Island Lions' honorary captain and was able to run to the center of the gridiron.
Giuliani just started his freshman year at Suffolk Community College and says he is thinking about majoring in communications.
