2h agoThe Long Island FunFest kicked off Thursday at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood.
The festivities, which will be going on for 10 days, offer rides, a petting zoo, old-time sideshow acts and lots of food.
David Erickson, one of the managers of the FunFest, says they wanted to make it more than just a carnival this year.
"We created something that should be good for the whole community," Erickson says.
The event also features live music, a circus and fireworks.
