Police seized more than 13 pounds of marijuana in Long Beach Friday after a traffic stop involving a driver who wasn't wearing a seat belt, according to authorities.
Long Beach police say an officer assigned to the city's seat belt enforcement detail saw Jason Kleinman not wearing a belt and filling a pipe with pot.
"The individual was stopped, taken out of the vehicle, and it was determined he was under the influence of some type of substance," says Long Beach Police Commissioner Michael Tangney.
Police searched the vehicle and found "assorted drugs," including the stockpile of pot.
At his arraignment Friday, a judge set bail at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
