Long Island beaches are expected to be crowded Sunday as another potential heatwave is set to begin.
Access to the beach at Long Beach is being restricted to keep capacity at 50%. The city of Long Beach recently announced that on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, non-resident day passes will no longer be sold or accepted.
The decision comes after the beach filled over the weekends. On several busy days, the city had to stop the sale of day passes at 12 p.m. because they had already reached capacity.
Non-resident day passes will still be sold and honored Monday through Thursday.
The Long Beach boardwalks closes at 9 p.m. while the beach is open until 8 p.m.
