The Locust Valley School District is the second school district in Nassau County to adopt a transgender bathroom policy.
It is now mandating students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that align with their biological sex.
The district said it will continue to provide safe spaces for students – like gender neutral bathrooms.
The decision came down at a board meeting this week.
The Massapequa School Board adopted a similar resolution in September.
On Thursday, the state’s education commissioner said the Massapequa School District cannot enforce the policy under state law.
