Country music group Lady A performed at Jones Beach Theater Friday, marking the iconic venue's first show since the pandemic began.
Many people have been waiting for live music to come back to the venue
"There are extra things in place, extra cleaning protocols, extra security, but guests won't experience that," said Adam Citron, of Live Nation.
The theater is at 100% capacity with virtual tickets being checked on smartphones.
Unvaccinated guests are asked to mask up, but no proof of vaccination is required.
"If you had asked me a few weeks ago, I would've said vaccinated people are OK and you can do as you please. I think now the data's a little different," said Dr. Mangala Narasimhan of Northwell Health.
She adds even vaccinated people should be careful at crowded events.
"The delta variant seems much more contagious, that seems to be spreading amongst the vaccinated. Vaccinated people can get COVID, we know that they can also spread COVID," Dr. Narasimhan said.
She says it's better that the show is outside, where fresh air can circulate better than indoors.
