Long Island University is partnering with Nassau Community College and Las Vegas Sands in their plans create a hospitality management program for students at both colleges.
A proposal to build a resort casino at Nassau Coliseum is still in the works.
Las Vegas Sands will have to win one of the three downstate casino licenses from New York state.
There is still opposition to the proposal from nearby residents and Hofstra University.
