LIRR trains back on track after broken rail
The Long Island Rail Road says both the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches are back on track following a broken rail that caused delays this morning.
Chopper 12 was over the scene in Westbury where workers were seen trying to fix the broken rail.
News 12 Long Island has learned at least four trains were canceled because of the issue.
Meanwhile, switching troubles caused problems on the Port Washington branch, where at least one train was canceled.
Despite being stranded in the bitter cold, some Long Islanders took it in stride.
The trains are now back on or close to schedule.
